Position Overview:
We are looking for a Design Lead / Head of Design to own UX strategy, product definition, and implementation across our SaaS platform. This is a leadership role for someone who can think like a product owner, execute with engineering, and build a strong design team. You will work directly with the CEO and business stakeholders, lead a team of designers, and ensure that design decisions translate into clear, buildable, high-impact product experiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end UX and product experience across the platform.
- Conducts user research to align the design approach for respective pain points and project objectives, using key artifacts (e.g., journey maps, service blueprints, ecosystem maps) to define, communicate, and develop a desired digital experience.
- Documents workflows and leads service blueprint development to reflect future-state user processes; build solution based on redesigned workflows, synchronizing functional needs of multiple users.
- Build the information architecture for multiple functions, creating a solution for multiple workflows/applications to create a singular user experience and the ability of different functional users to contribute to different services.
- Develop and maintain design systems that ensure consistency across multiple (cloud-native) applications.
- Work closely with developers to ensure seamless implementation of designs and resolve any design-related issues during development.
- Ensure all deliverables across a variety of projects are produced at the highest quality
- This role is accountable for shipping the right experience, not just producing designs.
Required Skills & Experience
- 5+ years of experience in UX / Product Experience design for SaaS products.
- Strong skills in mapping user journeys, defining interaction logic, and creating scalable systems that ensure consistency across features and platforms.
- Hands-on experience designing end-to-end user experiences for SaaS platforms, covering discovery, problem definition, solution design, validation, and implementation across multiple product cycles.
- Experience collaborating within a multi-disciplinary delivery team including service designers, technologists, data scientists, engineers, solution architects, and change managers.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor designers, conduct reviews, set quality standards, and scale design processes while managing teams of 4–5 members.
- Capable of independently driving requirement clarification, prioritization, trade-offs, and cross-team alignment without reliance on a dedicated Product Manager.
- Strong knowledge and demonstrated experience in UI design including wireframing, low and high-fidelity prototyping, moderated and unmoderated user testing, and accessibility testing.
Design Leadership & Team Management
- Define and maintain design guidelines, processes, and best practices.
Ensure consistency, efficiency, and high-quality output across the team. - Lead and support a team of designers through coaching, feedback, and clear ownership.
Focus on skill development, accountability, and consistent delivery. - Facilitate structured reviews and critiques focused on user outcomes.
Align design priorities with product goals and delivery timelines. - Contribute directly to critical UX problems while guiding the team.
Ensure leadership oversight without micromanaging execution.
